Bellefontaine

Bellefontaine is a small village in the Vosges department, in the Grand Est region of France, close to Gérardmer and its well-known lakes. Set in a mid-mountain landscape, it benefits from the forested surroundings typical of the Vosges mountains, making it well suited to outdoor pursuits. The area is valued for its fir and spruce woodlands, its hiking and mountain biking trails in summer, and its downhill and cross-country skiing opportunities in winter, thanks to nearby resorts and nordic ski areas. The neighbouring Vosges lakes, such as Lac de Gérardmer and Lac de Longemer, offer swimming, fishing and watersports during the warmer months. The climate is mountainous, with cool, snowy winters and mild summers, ideal for nature-based breaks. Bellefontaine therefore serves as a peaceful base from which to explore the Vosges massif, its traditional farm inns and local produce, combining green tourism with winter activities in an unspoilt rural setting, well away from urban bustle.
