Plancher bas

Plancher-Bas is a village in the Haute-Saône department, in the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté region, nestled at the foot of the Vosges mountains, close to Plancher-les-Mines and the Ballon d'Alsace massif. This mid-mountain village enjoys an unspoilt natural setting of fir forests, meadows and streams, typical of the Vosges foothills. The area is popular for walking and mountain biking, with easy access to trails leading to the Ballon d'Alsace, an iconic peak in the southern Vosges rising above 1,200 metres. In winter, cross-country skiing and snowshoeing are available nearby.
