Luxeuil les bains

Luxeuil-les-Bains is a town in the Haute-Saône department, in the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté region, known since antiquity for its thermal springs. The town's development stems from hot springs exploited as early as Gallo-Roman times, later developed into a spa establishment that remains active today. The historic centre retains notable architecture, including turreted Renaissance houses and the Basilica of Saint-Pierre, a former abbey church linked to the monastic foundation established by Saint Columbanus in the 6th century. The Tour des Echevins, now home to a museum, also reflects this religious and civic heritage. Luxeuil-les-Bains additionally hosts an international organ festival, showcasing the region's historic instruments. Located on the edge of the Vosges saônoises, the town serves as a good base for outdoor activities amid forests, ponds and the gently rolling landscapes typical of northern Franche-Comté.
