Haroue

Haroué is a village in the Meurthe-et-Moselle department of Lorraine, roughly thirty kilometres from Nancy. It is best known for its château, designed by architect Germain Boffrand in the 18th century for the Beauvau-Craon family. The château remains inhabited and is partly open to visitors, featuring formal French gardens along with collections of period furniture and porcelain. The village retains a distinctly rural character typical of the Lorraine countryside, with stone houses and gently rolling surroundings well suited to walking. The wider area offers scope for walking and cycling among ponds, woodland and small villages of the Saintois region.
