Trainou

Trainou is a village in the Loiret department, in the Centre-Val de Loire region, located a few kilometres north-east of Orléans, on the edge of the Forêt d'Orléans, one of the largest forested areas in France. The village is particularly known for its Écomusée de l'Abeille, a museum dedicated to beekeeping and honey production, which draws visitors keen to learn about this traditional craft. Trainou's rural, wooded surroundings make it a pleasant base for forest walks, hiking and cycling, as well as spotting local wildlife. Its proximity to Orléans also means easy access to urban amenities, shops and the historic heritage of the Loiret's county town, while staying in a quieter, greener setting. The region enjoys a temperate oceanic climate, with mild summers and relatively gentle winters, ideal for outdoor activities for much of the year. Trainou therefore offers a peaceful base from which to explore the Loiret, combining unspoilt nature with straightforward access to the tourist attractions of the nearby Loire Valley.
