Loury

Loury is a small village in the Loiret department, in the Centre-Val de Loire region, located around twenty kilometres north-east of Orléans. It lies on the edge of the Forêt d'Orléans, one of France's largest state-owned forests, making it an appealing starting point for walking, cycling and exploring the countryside. The village retains a typically rural character, with traditional Loiret houses and a peaceful setting, ideal for a green getaway while remaining close to the amenities of Orléans. Its proximity to the Sologne region and the Loire Valley also makes it easy to plan day trips to better-known heritage sites, such as the Loire châteaux or Orléans' historic centre, home to several listed monuments.
