Kirchberg in Tirol

Kirchberg in Tirol is a municipality in the Austrian Tyrol, located in the district of Kitzbühel, just a few kilometres from Kitzbühel's historic centre. The village lies at the foot of the Kitzbüheler Horn and Gaisberg massifs, within the Brixental valley through which the Kitzbüheler Ache river flows. Its ski area is directly linked to that of Kitzbühel, forming one of the largest interconnected piste networks in Tyrol, making it a popular winter destination for alpine skiing and snowboarding. In summer, the surrounding mountains offer numerous hiking and mountain-biking trails, along with a well-regarded golf course. The village retains a traditional Tyrolean character, with flower-decked balconied houses and a parish church dedicated to St Nicholas. Kirchberg enjoys an alpine climate with snowy winters and mild summers, well suited to outdoor pursuits. Its proximity to Kitzbühel allows visitors to enjoy the shops, restaurants and lively atmosphere of that well-known resort town while staying in a quieter, more residential setting.
