Beaune la rolande

Beaune-la-Rolande is a small town in the Loiret department, in the Centre-Val de Loire region, set within the Pithiverais, a broad agricultural plain given over to cereal crops and sugar beet. The town holds a notable history: a monument commemorates the Battle of Beaune-la-Rolande, an episode of the Franco-Prussian War of 1870, while a memorial marks the internment camp that existed here during the Second World War. The Saint-Martin church and the old market halls reflect the town's earlier heritage.
