Sigloy

Sigloy is a small village in the Loiret department, in the Centre-Val de Loire region, set along the banks of the River Loire close to Châteauneuf-sur-Loire and Jargeau. It lies within the Loire Valley, a UNESCO World Heritage area known for its riverside landscapes, historic châteaux and cycling routes, including the well-known Loire à Vélo trail that runs through the region. The rural, wooded surroundings, on the edge of the Sologne area, provide a peaceful setting well suited to walking, fishing and nature watching. From here, it's easy to explore nearby historic towns such as Orléans, as well as the grander Loire Valley châteaux a little further west. The local climate is temperate oceanic, with mild summers and cool winters, making spring and summer the most popular times to visit. Overall, Sigloy offers a quiet base for discovering a rural stretch of central France, shaped by the presence of the river and a longstanding agricultural and forestry tradition.
