Neuville aux bois

Neuville-aux-Bois is a town in the Loiret department, in the Centre-Val de Loire region, located around twenty kilometres north-east of Orléans. It lies on the edge of the Gâtinais area and close to the Forêt d'Orléans, one of France's largest state-owned forests, popular for walking, cycling and countryside outings. The town retains a typically rural character for the Loiret, with agriculture shaped by the cereal-growing plains of the nearby Beauce region. Its location makes Neuville-aux-Bois a convenient base for exploring Orléans and its historic centre, as well as the Loire Valley châteaux, a UNESCO World Heritage site, which are within reasonable travelling distance.
