Chuelles

Chuelles is a small rural village in the Loiret department, within the Gâtinais region, close to Montargis. Part of the Centre-Val de Loire region, the area is characterised by gently rolling countryside, combining farmland, woodland and small hamlets typical of the Gâtinais. The climate is a modified oceanic type, with mild summers and moderate winters, making it a pleasant destination for a countryside stay throughout the year. The village offers a peaceful setting, ideal for walking or cycling along the surrounding rural lanes and for discovering the local heritage, including the churches and old stone buildings typical of Gâtinais villages. Nearby Montargis, nicknamed the “Venice of the Gâtinais” for its canals, is well worth a visit, offering shops, restaurants and historic sights just a short drive away. The region is also known for praline sweets, a speciality closely associated with Montargis.
