Chatillon sur loire

Châtillon-sur-Loire is a village in the Loiret department, in the Centre-Val de Loire region, set on the banks of the Loire, close to Briare and Gien. The village is crossed by the Loire lateral canal, home to the Mantelot lock, one of the largest locks on this waterway, of particular interest to those keen on inland navigation and industrial heritage. The Loire à Vélo cycle route runs through the commune, offering pleasant rides along the river amid classic Loire Valley scenery. The village retains a modest yet genuine architectural heritage, including its church and a handful of older buildings.
