Chailly en gatinais

Chailly-en-Gâtinais is a small rural village in the Loiret department, in the Centre-Val de Loire region of France, located in the Gâtinais area, just a few kilometres from the Orléans state forest, one of the largest forested areas in the country. The village sits within a peaceful countryside setting, characterised by farmland, ponds and woodland typical of this part of the Gâtinais, a region historically linked to saffron cultivation and beekeeping. The nearby Orléans forest makes the area well suited to walking, cycling and nature watching. Neighbouring villages such as Bellegarde and Nibelle offer local shops, markets and a number of older buildings and small châteaux reflecting the rural heritage of the Loiret.
