Bains

Bains is a village in the Haute-Loire department, in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region, located in the Velay area just a few kilometres from Le Puy-en-Velay. The village sits within a landscape of volcanic mid-mountain terrain, typical of this part of the Massif Central, offering pronounced relief and unspoilt countryside well suited to outdoor pursuits. The centre retains architecture characteristic of the Velay, built from volcanic stone, along with a church in the Romanesque style commonly found throughout this part of Haute-Loire. Its proximity to Le Puy-en-Velay, renowned for its Notre-Dame cathedral and the Saint-Michel d'Aiguilhe chapel, makes it a convenient base for exploring the department's main attractions.
