Hollersbach im Pinzgau

Hollersbach im Pinzgau is a mountain village in the Austrian state of Salzburg, located in the Pinzgau region. It sits at the entrance to the Hollersbachtal, an alpine valley leading towards the Hohe Tauern National Park, one of the largest protected areas in the Alps. The village lies close to Mittersill, the nearest town for shops and services. The surrounding landscape features alpine meadows, coniferous forests and peaks often exceeding 3,000 metres, characteristic of the Hohe Tauern massif. The area is popular for summer hiking, with numerous marked trails leading to mountain huts and high-altitude pastures where traditional farming is still practised. In winter, nearby ski resorts in the Pinzgau region and around Zell am See-Kaprun are within easy reach. The climate is typically alpine, with cold, snowy winters and mild summers well suited to outdoor pursuits such as mountain biking, mountaineering and fishing in local streams. Hollersbach therefore serves as a quiet base for exploring the unspoilt natural surroundings of the Pinzgau region.
