Huben

Huben is a small village in Austrian Tyrol, located at the entrance to the Ötztal valley, on the banks of the Ötztaler Ache river, within the district of Imst. Surrounded by alpine peaks often exceeding 3,000 metres, it serves as a convenient base for exploring the valley towards Sölden and Obergurgl, both well known for their ski areas, as well as nearby villages such as Längenfeld, noted for its thermal baths, and Umhausen, home to the Stuibenfall waterfall. The village itself retains a traditional Tyrolean character, with steep-roofed houses and surrounding meadows used for mountain farming. In summer, the area draws hikers and mountain bikers thanks to a network of trails connecting the various hamlets along the valley, while in winter its proximity to larger ski resorts makes it an affordable place to stay for those wishing to access the slopes without lodging directly in the busier, pricier resort towns. The alpine climate, with cold, snowy winters and mild summers, strongly shapes local life and the range of activities available to visitors throughout the year.
