Aurec sur loire

Aurec-sur-Loire is a village in the Haute-Loire department, in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region, set on the banks of the River Loire near the boundary with the Loire department. The town retains the remains of its old medieval castle, a reminder of its historical past, and offers a setting shaped by the nearby river and surrounding hills. It lies close to Lac de Grangent, a reservoir popular for water sports and walking, and is conveniently positioned between Saint-Étienne and Le Puy-en-Velay, making it a handy stopping point between the two.
