Chamalieres sur loire

Chamalières-sur-Loire is a small village in the Velay area of the Haute-Loire department, in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region of France. It sits on the banks of the River Loire, amid a landscape of gorges and hills typical of this part of the Auvergne. The village is notably home to a former Romanesque priory, reflecting the rich medieval religious heritage of the area. The surrounding countryside is well suited to walking and exploring the still largely unspoilt Loire valley.
