Paulnay

Paulnay is a rural village in the Indre department, in the Centre-Val de Loire region, located in the Boischaut Nord area, close to the Brenne Regional Nature Park. The surrounding landscape is typical of central France's bocage countryside, featuring meadows, hedgerows and small woodlands that support a rich variety of wildlife. The village retains a strong agricultural character, with livestock farming still present in the surrounding countryside. The modest village centre offers a peaceful, unspoilt setting, well away from urban bustle, making it ideal for a relaxing stay. The surrounding area is well suited to walking and cycling, allowing visitors to discover neighbouring villages and the ponds characteristic of the Brenne, sometimes referred to as the 'land of a thousand lakes'. The region is also popular for birdwatching, particularly around its protected wetlands. Paulnay therefore serves as a convenient base for exploring the natural heritage of southern Indre, while enjoying a temperate oceanic climate with mild summers and relatively gentle winters, typical of this part of Centre-Val de Loire.
