Le poinconnet

Le Poinçonnet is a town in the Indre department, in the Centre-Val de Loire region, located a few kilometres south-west of Châteauroux. It offers a setting that is both residential and rural, on the edge of the Brenne Regional Nature Park, often nicknamed the land of a thousand ponds, valued for its wetland landscapes and rich wildlife, particularly birdlife. The area provides a peaceful environment, typical of the Berry region, with wooded spaces and paths well suited to walking and cycling. Its proximity to Châteauroux gives easy access to the shops, services and cultural events of a mid-sized county town, while still enjoying a quieter pace of life. The climate is a degraded oceanic type, with reasonably mild summers and cool, mild winters. This location makes Le Poinçonnet a convenient base for exploring the natural heritage of the Brenne area as well as the historic sites of Berry, a region known for its rural architecture, characterful villages and simple, authentic gastronomy, including goat's cheese and other local specialities.
