Azay le ferron

Azay-le-Ferron is a small village in the Indre department, in the Centre-Val de Loire region, lying on the border between Touraine and Berry. The village is best known for its château, bequeathed to the city of Tours in the early twentieth century, which can be visited along with its period furnishings, formal French gardens and landscaped English-style park. The commune lies close to the Regional Nature Park of Brenne, known as the land of a thousand ponds, a popular spot for birdwatching, fishing and countryside walks. The peaceful, green surroundings make it a fitting base for a rural stay, away from urban bustle. The area offers opportunities for walking and cycling, as well as the chance to discover charming small villages typical of Berry and Touraine. The climate is a mild oceanic one, with gentle summers and moderate winters.
