Feichten im Kaunertal

Feichten im Kaunertal is a small village nestled in the heart of the Kaunertal valley in Austrian Tyrol, close to the Kaunertal glacier, which rises above 3,000 metres. The village serves as a convenient base for reaching the glacier ski area, accessible via a scenic toll road offering views of the surrounding peaks. The unspoilt mountain setting appeals both to winter sports enthusiasts, thanks to skiing available on the glacier for much of the year, and to summer hikers, who can enjoy numerous waymarked trails winding through alpine meadows and coniferous forests. The Kaunertal valley, quieter than many other Tyrolean destinations, retains an authentic character with traditional chalets and typical Tyrolean architecture. Outdoor activities on offer are varied, ranging from hiking and mountain biking to alpine and ski touring in winter. The village enjoys a typical alpine climate, with snowy winters ideal for winter sports and mild summers well suited to mountain excursions. Feichten also makes a good base for exploring other villages in the valley, such as Kauns or Kaunerberg, within the unspoilt natural surroundings of western Tyrol.
