La berthenoux

La Berthenoux is a small rural commune in the Indre department, in the Centre-Val de Loire region, located in the Berry area and more specifically in the Vallée Noire, a hedgerow landscape made famous through the writings of George Sand. The village lies close to La Châtre, the main town in southern Indre, and not far from Nohant-Vic, home to the writer's former estate, which is open to visitors today.
