Le pechereau

Le Péchereau is a village in the Indre department, in the Centre-Val de Loire region, situated on the left bank of the River Creuse, directly opposite Argenton-sur-Creuse. This riverside setting, part of the Creuse valley once dubbed the “painters' valley” due to the artists it attracted in the late 19th century, gives the village a quiet, green atmosphere. Its close proximity to Argenton-sur-Creuse, with its old streets, half-timbered houses and riverside quays, makes it easy to enjoy nearby shops, services and heritage sites while staying somewhere more residential and natural. Le Péchereau itself lends itself well to riverside walks, fishing, or outdoor pursuits such as canoeing on the Creuse. The climate is a degraded oceanic type, with mild summers and moderate winters typical of central France. The surrounding countryside, characterised by bocage landscapes and river valleys, makes it well suited to peaceful stays centred on nature and the discovery of the local Berry heritage.
