Flirsch

Flirsch is a village in the Austrian Tyrol, located in the Landeck district, close to the Arlberg Pass, a well-known alpine border region near Vorarlberg. The village lies in the Stanzertal valley, surrounded by peaks often exceeding 2,500 metres, offering an unspoilt natural setting typical of the Tyrolean Alps. Its location makes it a convenient base for exploring the Arlberg region, renowned for its interconnected ski areas, including those around Sankt Anton am Arlberg, just a few kilometres away. In winter, Flirsch draws skiers and winter sports enthusiasts thanks to its proximity to these major resorts, while retaining a quieter, more village-like atmosphere than its busier neighbours. In summer, the area is well suited to mountain walking and mountain biking, with numerous trails crossing the surrounding alpine pastures. The alpine climate brings cold, snowy winters and cool summers, suited to outdoor pursuits throughout the year. Traditional Tyrolean architecture, with timber chalets and steeply pitched roofs, defines the village and its preserved rural surroundings.
