Vandans

Vandans is a village in Vorarlberg, located in the Montafon valley near Bludenz in western Austria. Set along the River Ill, it occupies a central position within this alpine valley known for its mountain scenery. The village serves as the starting point for the Golm cable car, which serves a ski area popular in winter for alpine skiing and, in summer, a network of hiking trails and mountain bike routes. The Golm area is also known for its pedestrian suspension bridge, offering open views over the surrounding peaks and the valleys of the Montafon. The alpine climate, with cold, snowy winters and mild summers, supports tourism throughout both seasons. From Vandans, other Montafon villages such as Schruns and Tschagguns are easily accessible, as are the Rätikon and Silvretta mountain ranges. The village retains a rural character typical of Vorarlberg, with traditional buildings and an unspoilt natural setting, making it well suited to stays centred on outdoor activities and mountain relaxation.
