Saalbach-Hinterglemm

Saalbach-Hinterglemm is a mountain resort in the Salzburg region of Austria, within the Pinzgau area. Made up of two neighbouring villages with traditional chalet-style buildings, it lies in a valley surrounded by peaks such as the Schattberg, Zwölferkogel and Reiterkogel. It forms part of the Skicircus Saalbach Hinterglemm Leogang Fieberbrunn, one of Austria's largest ski areas, linking several valleys through an extensive network of lifts and groomed slopes. In winter, the resort is well known for its alpine skiing facilities, freeride terrain and lively après-ski scene, with numerous bars and terraces at the base of the slopes. In summer, the area becomes a hub for hiking and mountain biking, featuring a dedicated bike park on the higher slopes and marked trails suited to all levels. The architecture retains a traditional Tyrolean character, with timber façades and flower-adorned balconies. The village has previously hosted international skiing and snowboarding competitions, reflecting its strong sporting reputation. The alpine climate brings snowy winters and mild summers, making the destination suitable for outdoor activities throughout the year.
