Westendorf

Westendorf is a mountain village in the Austrian Tyrol, located in the Brixen Valley at the heart of the Kitzbühel Alps. It forms part of the SkiWelt Wilder Kaiser-Brixental ski area, one of Austria's largest, which connects several neighbouring villages through an extensive network of slopes and lifts. In winter, the village draws skiers and snowboarders with runs suited to all abilities, as well as families seeking a quieter alternative to some of the region's larger resorts. In summer, Westendorf becomes a popular base for hiking and mountain biking, with trails leading up to surrounding alpine pastures and offering views of the limestone peaks of the Wilder Kaiser. The village retains a traditional Tyrolean character, with timber chalets, classic alpine architecture and an authentic valley atmosphere. Its central position within the Brixental also makes it a convenient starting point for day trips to the nearby historic towns of Kitzbühel and Kufstein. The mountain climate brings snowy winters ideal for winter sports and mild summers well suited to outdoor pursuits.
