Hippach

Hippach is a village in the Austrian Tyrol, located in the Zillertal valley close to Mayrhofen. It forms part of the Zillertal Arena ski region, valued for its interconnected slopes and easy access to the Ahorn and Penken areas. The village retains a traditional Tyrolean character, with a parish church featuring a baroque interior that reflects the local religious architecture. The mountainous surroundings make it a good base for summer hiking, with trails leading up to alpine pastures and nearby peaks, as well as for winter sports once the snow arrives. The Zillertal valley is also known for regional produce such as cheese and traditional schnapps, along with folk festivals celebrating local customs. Hippach offers a quieter alternative to Mayrhofen while still benefiting from the same infrastructure, thanks to its close proximity to the lift systems. The alpine climate, with snowy winters and mild summers, supports year-round outdoor tourism, combining unspoilt nature with the authentic atmosphere of a small mountain village.
