Oberndorf in Tirol

Oberndorf in Tirol is a municipality in the Austrian Tyrol, located in the district of Kitzbühel, right next to St. Johann in Tirol. Crossed by the Kitzbüheler Ache river, it lies at the foot of the Kitzbühel Alps, amid a landscape of green valleys and peaks rising above 2,000 metres. The village benefits from its central position within a well-known tourist region, situated between the renowned resorts of Kitzbühel and St. Johann in Tirol, providing convenient access to the surrounding ski areas in winter as well as to hiking and mountain-biking trails in summer. The typical alpine climate of the Tyrol brings snowy winters ideal for winter sports and mild summers well suited to outdoor pursuits. The village retains a rural, authentic character, with traditional farmhouses and classic Tyrolean timber architecture. It serves as a practical base for exploring the Kitzbüheler Alpen region while remaining within reasonable reach of the main routes connecting Innsbruck and Salzburg, making it easy to travel on to other destinations across Tyrol.
