Uderns

Uderns is a village in the Zillertal, an alpine valley in Tyrol, Austria, just a few kilometres from Fügen and Zell am Ziller. Set at a moderate altitude on the valley floor, it offers a typically Tyrolean setting, surrounded by meadows and wooded slopes leading up to the surrounding peaks. The Zillertal is recognised as one of Austria's major alpine valleys for mountain activities throughout the year, including hiking, mountain biking and climbing in summer, and skiing and winter sports at nearby resorts such as Hochzillertal or Hochfügen, both accessible by car from Uderns. The Ziller river runs through the valley, providing a pleasant setting for walks or outdoor pursuits such as rafting, which is practised locally. The village retains traditional Tyrolean architecture, with timber chalets and farmhouses typical of the region. Uderns serves as a convenient base for exploring the Zillertal, also known for its local traditions, Austrian cuisine and regional markets. Innsbruck lies roughly an hour's drive away, making cultural day trips easily achievable.
