Mieming

Mieming is a village in the Austrian state of Tyrol, set on the sunny Mieminger Plateau between Innsbruck and the Zugspitze massif, at an altitude of around 870 metres. Part of the Imst district, it lies within the Seefeld tourist region, close to the villages of Wildermieming, Obsteig and Barwies. The village enjoys open views over the Mieminger Kette range and the Wetterstein massif, making it a popular starting point for summer hiking as well as cross-country and alpine skiing in winter, thanks to small, family-friendly local facilities. The area is also known for its notably sunny climate, which has earned the plateau its nickname as a 'sun terrace'. There is a well-regarded golf course nearby, along with several wellness-focused establishments. The rural surroundings, dotted with alpine meadows and forests, contrast with the proximity of livelier towns such as Telfs and Innsbruck, both roughly a thirty-minute drive away. Mieming remains a peaceful destination, well suited to nature-based and restorative breaks away from the busier resorts.
