Duingt

Duingt is a Savoyard village on the western shore of Lake Annecy, between Annecy and Talloires, in the Haute-Savoie department. The village is best known for its château, built on a small peninsula that juts out into the lake, forming one of the most photographed views in the region. The village retains a peaceful character, with narrow lanes, a small chapel and a harbour sheltering a handful of traditional boats. The shoreline features designated swimming areas as well as spots for water sports such as paddleboarding, kayaking and sailing, taking advantage of the lake's calm, clear waters. Nearby lies the Roc de Chère nature reserve, popular for its walking trails offering views over the lake and surrounding mountains, including La Tournette. Duingt enjoys a mid-mountain climate, with mild summers well suited to outdoor pursuits and cooler winters. Its central position on the lake makes it a convenient base for exploring Annecy, with its old town and lakeside setting, while still enjoying a quieter, more relaxed atmosphere.
