Karlin Liben

Karlín and Libeň form a pair of adjoining districts in Prague 8, in the Czech Republic. Karlín, once an industrial area, has undergone significant regeneration since the early 2000s, particularly following the 2002 floods, evolving into a sought-after residential and business district lined with renovated buildings, modern offices, and numerous cafés and restaurants along Křižíkova Street. Libeň, more working-class and varied in character, retains a more authentic feel, combining older housing, former industrial sites, and green spaces along the Vltava River. The area is well connected by metro (Line B) and tram, putting central Prague just minutes away. The riverside paths are popular for walking, and Kaizlovy sady park provides a welcome patch of greenery locally. Its proximity to the city centre, paired with a quieter, less touristy atmosphere, makes it a convenient base for exploring Prague day to day, away from the busier historic core.
