Dolní Branná

Dolní Branná is a small village in north-eastern Bohemia, in the Trutnov district, close to Vrchlabí and at the gateway to the Krkonoše mountain range (the Giant Mountains). This setting makes it a convenient base for exploring Krkonoše National Park, well known for its hiking trails in summer and ski slopes in winter. The village retains a manor house (zámek), a reminder of its rural and seigneurial past, now part of the local landscape. The surroundings are quiet and green, typical of villages at the foot of the Czech mountains, with meadows, woodland and small streams. The region draws visitors interested in nature, cycling and the folk heritage of the Krkonoše area, including traditional glassmaking and mountain customs found in nearby towns such as Vrchlabí and Špindlerův Mlýn.
