Kořenov

Kořenov is a small mountain village in the Krkonoše range (Giant Mountains) in northern Bohemia, close to the Polish border. Part of the Liberec region, it is best known for its railway station, the terminus of the historic rack railway linking Tanvald and Harrachov, one of the few lines of its kind in the Czech Republic. Surrounded by dense forests and rugged terrain, the village serves as a convenient base for hiking in summer and for alpine and cross-country skiing in winter, with the Harrachov ski resort nearby. Kořenov retains a quiet, rural character, well away from the bustle of larger resorts. Accommodation options are mainly mountain-style chalets and guesthouses, suited to nature-focused stays.
