Bischofsmais

Bischofsmais is a village in Lower Bavaria, nestled in the Bavarian Forest (Bayerischer Wald), close to the national park of the same name. The village lies on the slopes of the Geißkopf, a peak rising to around 1,097 metres, which serves as the area's main hub for outdoor activities. In winter, visitors can enjoy alpine and cross-country skiing thanks to several lifts and slopes suited to families and more experienced skiers alike. In summer, the Geißkopf becomes a playground for mountain bikers, featuring downhill trails and a bike park, alongside a network of hiking paths offering views over the Bavarian Forest and, on clear days, the surrounding ranges.
