Siegsdorf is a municipality in Bavaria, located in the district of Traunstein within the Chiemgau region, at the foot of the Alps. The village is notable for the 1975 discovery of a remarkably well-preserved mammoth skeleton, now displayed in the local museum dedicated to this palaeontological find. The surrounding countryside offers a typical alpine Bavarian landscape, including the Weißbach Gorge, appreciated for its shaded paths and narrow riverbed.
