Eurajoki

Eurajoki is a municipality in the Satakunta region on Finland's west coast, close to the town of Rauma and the Gulf of Bothnia. Crossed by the river of the same name, the area retains a distinctly rural character, with agricultural land and woodland typical of this part of the country. Eurajoki is best known for hosting the Olkiluoto nuclear power plant, one of Finland's major energy facilities, situated on a peninsula along the coastline. This industrial presence sits alongside a well-preserved natural environment, ideal for walking, fishing and observing coastal wildlife. The climate, continental but tempered by the sea, brings long, cold winters and short, bright summers. The wider region offers a quiet setting away from urban bustle, valued for its surrounding nature, lakes and forests. Eurajoki also serves as a convenient link between Rauma and Pori, two larger towns on Finland's west coast, while maintaining its own identity as a small rural and industrial community.
