Pudasjärvi

Pudasjärvi is a municipality in northern Finland, located in the North Ostrobothnia region, close to the border with Lapland. It covers a vast area largely made up of forests, peatlands and lakes, crossed by the Iijoki river. The town is particularly known for its contemporary wooden architecture, having developed a distinctive identity as a 'wood town', with modern public buildings constructed following this local tradition. Nearby lies Syöte National Park, one of the region's main natural attractions, popular for hiking, cross-country skiing and the winter sports resorts of Iso-Syöte and Pikku-Syöte.
