Maaninka

Maaninka is a former municipality in the North Savo region of Finland, merged with the city of Kuopio in 2015. Located along the shores of Lake Onkivesi, it features a typical Finnish lakeland landscape of forests, farmland and open water. The area is particularly known for its agricultural research centre, now part of the Natural Resources Institute Finland (Luke), which specialises in equine studies and farming research.
