Trois-Ponts

Trois-Ponts is a French-speaking municipality in the province of Liège, nestled in the heart of the Belgian Ardennes, at the confluence of the Amblève and Salm rivers, which explains the origin of its name. This hilly, wooded setting makes it a popular destination for outdoor activities, including hiking, mountain biking and, above all, kayaking or rafting on the Amblève, a river well known in the region for water sports. The town lies close to Stavelot and to Coo, famous for its artificial waterfalls and adventure park, as well as the Spa-Francorchamps motor racing circuit, around twenty minutes away. The village still holds the remains of an old castle, a reminder of its medieval past. The surrounding rural and forested landscape near the Hautes Fagnes nature reserve also draws visitors seeking nature and tranquillity, in both summer and winter. Trois-Ponts therefore serves as a convenient base for exploring the Liège Ardennes, combining modest local heritage, river and forest scenery, and well-developed tourist facilities in the neighbouring villages.
