Utvik

Utvik is a small village in the municipality of Stryn, in Vestland county, on the shores of Nordfjorden, one of western Norway's major fjords. The area benefits from a notably mild microclimate for the region, sheltered by the surrounding mountains, which has traditionally supported fruit growing such as apples and plums. The landscape is defined by steep mountainsides descending directly into the fjord, creating an ideal setting for hiking, fishing and boating. Utvik is home to a well-known fjord hotel, a local landmark for visitors passing through. The village serves as a convenient base for exploring the wider Nordfjord region, including the area around the Jostedalsbreen glacier and nearby natural attractions such as the Briksdal glacier arm, as well as the villages of Loen and Stryn.
