Skeikampen

Skeikampen is a mountain resort located in the municipality of Gausdal, in Innlandet county, around 30 kilometres from Lillehammer. It is known as one of Norway's oldest ski resorts, valued for its family-friendly alpine skiing area and extensive cross-country trail network connecting to the Gausdal Vestfjell mountain range. The summit, rising to roughly 1,000 metres, offers open views over the surrounding valleys. In winter, the area draws visitors for alpine skiing, cross-country skiing and snowshoeing, with generally reliable snow cover from December to April. In summer, the same terrain becomes a popular spot for hiking and mountain biking, with easy access to mountain trails. Accommodation mainly consists of timber cabins and chalets in traditional Scandinavian style, set within a quiet, wooded environment. The proximity to Lillehammer, host city of the 1994 Winter Olympics, makes it possible to combine a mountain stay with cultural visits nearby. The region has a cold continental climate throughout the year, with long, harsh winters and short, bright summers.
