Middelfart

Middelfart is a harbour town in Denmark, situated on the island of Funen along the Little Belt strait (Lillebælt). It is best known for its two landmark bridges spanning the strait, the older bridge dating from 1935 and the modern suspension bridge opened in 1970, which link Funen to Jutland. The town is also home to the Fjord&Bælt Centre, a marine research institute where visitors can observe harbour porpoises and seals in a near-natural setting, a rather distinctive attraction in Northern Europe.
