Assens

Assens is a small harbour town in south-western Funen, Denmark, situated on the shores of the Little Belt. Its active marina forms the heart of the town, offering ferry connections to the nearby small island of Bågø. The historic centre retains a handful of older buildings and the peaceful atmosphere typical of small Danish coastal towns. The surrounding countryside, often referred to as Denmark's garden due to its orchards and farmland, features gentle rolling landscapes ideal for walking and, in particular, cycling, thanks to a well-developed network of paths linking neighbouring villages and the coastline.
