Hjørring

Hjørring is a town in North Jutland, Denmark, and the administrative centre of the municipality of the same name, within the Nordjylland region. It lies just a few kilometres from the North Sea coast, close to the popular beaches of Lønstrup and Løkken, known for their dunes and cliffs, including the famous buried church at Rubjerg Knude nearby. The town centre retains a traditional Danish provincial character, with shopping streets, period houses and several historic buildings reflecting its past as a market town. Hjørring is home to a regional museum covering local history, along with modest but active cultural venues such as a theatre and exhibition spaces.
