Ebeltoft

Ebeltoft is a small harbour town on Denmark's eastern Jutland coast, located in Syddjurs Municipality on the Djursland peninsula. Its historic centre, with cobbled streets and timber-framed houses, reflects its past as a trading town. The marina is home to sailing boats and fishing vessels, as well as the Fregatten Jylland, a 19th-century wooden frigate now converted into a museum and one of the largest surviving ships of its kind. The town also houses the Glasmuseet, a museum dedicated to contemporary glass art, set in the former town hall. Ebeltoft lies close to Mols Bjerge National Park, known for its rolling hills, heathland and walking trails, as well as its wildlife, including deer. The surrounding coastline offers sandy beaches suited to swimming and watersports during the summer months. The region enjoys a temperate maritime climate, with mild summers and cool winters. Ebeltoft makes a convenient base for exploring Jutland's east coast, combining maritime heritage, unspoilt nature and a quiet small-town atmosphere.
