Sorico Albonico

Sorico is a small municipality in the province of Sondrio, Lombardy, situated at the northern tip of Lake Como, close to Lake Mezzola and the Pian di Spagna nature reserve. This area, where the lake's waters meet the first Alpine foothills, forms a protected wetland known for birdwatching and rich biodiversity. The town often serves as a gateway to the Valchiavenna valley and surrounding countryside, providing convenient access to walking and cycling routes along the lakeshore. Framed by the mountains of Valtellina and the nearby Swiss border, Sorico has a quieter character than the more touristy southern shores of Lake Como.
