Riva di Solto

Riva di Solto is a small village on the eastern shore of Lake Iseo, in Lombardy's Bergamo province. Set between the lake and the foothills of Monte Bronzone, the village is known for its unspoilt natural surroundings, dominated by the rocky spur of Corna Trentapassi overlooking the water. The nearby hamlet of Zorzino, with its small pier and cliffs, offers fine views across the lake towards Montisola, Europe's largest lake island, easily reached by boat from the area. The region has a long history of limestone quarrying, which has shaped both the landscape and the local economy. Today, Riva di Solto is appreciated mainly for swimming, walking along the paths connecting the Sebino villages, and the quiet charm of its lakeside, generally less crowded than the more touristy resorts on the western shore. The mild climate, tempered by the lake, makes it pleasant to visit from spring through to autumn. The surrounding area also offers good regional restaurants showcasing produce from both the lake and the Bergamo mountains.
